Indiana is entering a new era – one where employers unite with a shared voice to shape workforce priorities and take the lead in educating and training new talent.
The Indiana Career Apprenticeship Pathway (INCAP) offers a high-quality, well-organized structure to develop your talent pipeline and fill your current and future workforce needs. Throughout the process, you’ll have support from your Industry Talent Association (ITA), which is responsible for uniting employers to organize and build INCAP programs.
This process includes identifying talent needs, choosing occupations, defining required knowledge and skills, and collaborating with educators to develop education and training materials. You will also receive ongoing support from the ITA in the form of recruitment assistance and supervisor training.

Right now, six Industry Talent Associations are seeking employers to join their efforts in building the relevant education and training framework for INCAP apprenticeships. Some industries expect to begin recruiting students in early 2026 for apprenticeships that begin in fall of 2026.
In the near future, we expect more industries to establish their own Industry Talent Associations.
If your organization is not currently represented by an ITA, but you would like to learn how to bring INCAP to your industry, we want to hear from you.
